The English literature is all written in English; her writings can be old, medieval, modern and contemporary. There are many types of genres in literature for example: Thriller, Romance, Novel, travel guide, ghost story, Crime, and many others.
I would highlight two important books in English literature, Dracula and Romeo and Juliet.
The first writer is Bram Stoker is an Irish novelist. He wrote many novels and short stories for example: The mystery of the sea. But his most famous work is Dracula. Dracula is a thriller and fiction book, because this book tell the story about a vampire, his name is Dracula, is a book for all kinds of persons. The story begins with the death of his wife. His wife is reincarnated into a young woman named Mina, she was committed to Jonathan, Jonathan was negotiating with Count Dracula their property in Transylvania, where he stayed prisoner, while the Count moved to London. Other character is Lucy was a best friend of Mina, she becomes a vampire. Suddenly the family and friends of Lucy decide to kill Dracula. Mina just falling in love with Dracula for his old life.
The next book is Romeo and Juliet the William Shakespeare, is considered the most famous writer in the English language. He wrote many theater plays and poems. For example: Hamlet, but I will talk about the Romeo and Juliet. It is a story of impossible love, because they are two young people who belong to rival families. They fall in love and marry in secret. Through a series of confusions, Romeo believes that Juliet is dead and kills himself beside his tomb. Juliet sees her beloved dead, and she killed herself.Then Romeo and Juliet don't end together, both they finish dead. In the end the rival families are reconciled.
Now I want to talk about my favorite book is The Fault in Our Stars, is a novel written by John Green. Besides being a writer, is a popular YouTuber, with his brother Hank Green. In my opinion his books are most read by young people. This book is about a teenager, her name is Hazel Grace, and she's fighting with lung cancer. She went to a cancer survivors support group. There she meets a boy, Augustus Waters. He lost his leg because of cancer. Hazel and Gus became best friends. The basis of their relationship is Hazel's favorite book. Hazel and Augustus embark on a journey of emotions, love, sadness and romance, while searching for the author of her favorite book. They travel to Amsterdam in search of Peter Van Houten the author of An Imperial Affliction. Suddenly, in Amsterdam, Augustus tells Hazel that he has little time. In my opinion this book is full of feelings.
Now a day many people think that young people read less. Groups of writers, artists and teachers have begun creating comics to encourage young people to read. These new comics teach reading and writing skills. Also, they encourage the students to create their own comics. In this unit the teacher
told two stories and two fables.
The first story is the invisible man. Dr Kemp heard a noise. They sound like gunshots. One hour later the doorbell rang, but there’s no one there! After another hour Kemp had finished his work, he walked to the kitchen to get some water and he saw blood on the floor. Then he went to his bedroom. The door was open. Dr Kemp saw blood on his bed, and he heard a voice. Then he saw something horrible. He saw a bandage and it was hanging in the air. The voice said that he was the invisible man.
One famous fable is the lion and the mouse. One day a lion was sleeping under a tree when a small mouse was running across his face. He woke up and caught the mouse. While the lion was getting to eat the mouse, he was shouting and screaming. The lion let him go. Then the lion fell into a trap. The mouse heard his cries and he started biting the rope. The message of this story is: If you help other people, they will help you.
Another fable is the rabbit and the tortoise. They agree to have a race. When the race started, the rabbit decided to have a rest because he had a long way in front of him. The tortoise was moving slowly when the rabbit was sleeping. When he woke up the tortoise was holding the prize. The message of this story is don’t be too arrogant.
The second story is A Welsh Folk Story. Mr. Williams called Black Robin to solve a mystery. Someone stole his ring. Robin asked for two things, a cockerel and a saucepan. Robin put the cockerel on the table and he put the saucepan over it. He told to the servant that when he said their names, they must put the thumb on the saucepan. As soon as the thief puts a hand on the saucepan the cockerel will crow. He closed the curtains and the room was dark. When he finished, he opened the curtains and immediately he knew who the thief. I think that he put ink on the saucepan. The innocent servants touched the saucepan because they hadn’t done anything wrong. The thief didn’t touch the saucepan. Then, when Robin opened the curtains, the innocents had dirty hands.
Teacher you are not going to believe the miracle that happened to me the other day. I was sick and my mother took me to the doctor. When I arrived, the doctor asked to my mother that “what symptoms have your daughter?” She told him “She had a headache, runny nose, temperature, and cough”. The doctor said immediately that I had a cold. He told me that I would not send pills to me, if my mother would prepare to me chicken soup. I think that this situation was strange. At home, my mother made me a chicken soup . A few hours later I felt much better. Since that day I believe in the home remedies.
Now I talk about allergies. There are many types of allergies but I focus only in the food allergies, as milk, eggs, fish and many others. Typical symptoms are: rash, a severe stomachache, and your face swollen.
From my point of view you must avoid eating this food and you ought to avoid even touching them.
I have noticed a big change in my life since I practice sports. Exercise is good for my body and my mind, sport help me to feel happy and peaceful. I feel good because when I practice exercise, I can lose weight because I burn more calories. In my opinion the exercise has many benefits for example: to your heart, your muscles and your joints. Before discovering the sport, I ate a lot of fast food like nuggest, many sweets ... But one day I decided to change my diet. Now I feel more energetic and healthy.
Lately my sister is very stressed with exams. I felt worried for her. Also, this week my sister is sleeping a few hours because it is studying all night. I think she should release her stress with yoga. Yoga is an exercise that is used to forget your problems. When you practice yoga you can discover your feelings, your mind, your body, and also you can discover more about yourself. If my sister decides to practice this exercise, she will notice a big change in her life and she can relax in her studies.
In this oral exam I will talk about the evolution of art, but before I start, I must say that in this unit, I have learned a lot of things about art. For most of history, the main purpose of painting was to show how things looked. Because there weren't any cameras, so the job of an artist was to represent reality.
Leonardo Da Vinci was a realistic artist. He is considered one of the most famous artist all of the time. So, he was an intellectual person and a very important scientific. Da Vinci was obsessed with birds and fly. He paints a lot of birds in his painting.
In the late 1800’s art began to be less realistic. The reason was the invention of the cameras. So, a lot of artist began to make their works more personal. Van Gogh, for example. His paintings are not at all realistic. He use very intense and bright colors and he omits a lot of details.
During the early 20th century, artist began to make pictures that were even farther from reality. For example Henri Matisse painted landscapes, people with flat and simple shapes.
But some artists, such as Kandinsky, creating paintings that didn’t represent anything real world. These artists were interested in experimenting with colours and shapes on the canvas. He paints abstract art. It makes a lot of people feel uncomfortable because they don’t understand it.When you see an abstract painting, don’t worry. Just relax. Let your eyes follow the colors and shapes and see how they make you feel!
A great example of abstract artist. Her name is Kusama. Is a very famous artist from Japon. Her paintings have been exhibited all over the world. But she has a difficult unhappy life. Her father left the family and her mother didn´t want to her to become an artist. She was obsessed with dots. And you can observe this obsession in some rooms that she painted.
Okay, so…, in this unit I learned about the four most important museums in the world, the Prado in Madrid, the MoMa in New York, the Smithsonian in Washington, and the Louvre in Paris, but I will talk about the MoMa and the Louvre because I love this museums. The Louvre is a museum in Paris, France. It was a medieval fortress and the palace of the king of France before it became a museum two centuries ago. In this museum you will find pieces by some of the most famous artist in the history for example Leonardo Da Vinci, in this museum you can find his famous paint his name is The Giaconda. MoMa is a museum of Modern Art in Midtown Manhattan in New York City. It has been important in developing and collecting modernist art. This museum including works of architecture and design, drawings, painting, sculptures, film and so on. The main attraction of this museum is the Starry Nights by Vincent Van Gogh.
But I didn't know that in the world have weird museums. For example the Mandela Family museum. Mandela was the first African president, and he fought for the equality of Africa, but he has a difficult life. This museum contains designs, painting and photographs of the Mandela's family.
I finish my great oral exam with the 3D street art. In my opinion this art is breathtaking, because is an optical illusion from a certain perspective. This art are most popularity now a day. Edgar Muller also known as “maestro mandonari” his paintings are from rural scenes of his homeland and many others.
