NARRATIVE TENSES

          Narrative Tenses refer to all the Past tenses that we usually manage when we want to tell stories and Tales (Past Simple, Past Continuous and Past Perfect) Each tense has got an specific function within the story:

PAST PERFECT

 Had + participe

                  -ed

                     3ª colum

Words= Before, After.

PAST CONTINUOUS

PAST SIMPLE

    Sequence the action. It tells you wich comes first and which second.

Simple refers to a finished action.

+= Suj + VB (past) 'I saw a car'

 

-= Suj + DIDN'T + VB (inf) 'I didn't see a car'

 

?= DID + Suj + VB (inf) 'Did I see a car?'

GRAMMAR

Simple refers to a finished action.

It give movement to the action.

+= Suj + was/wereVB -ing 'I was watching TV'

 

-= Suj + wasn't/weren't+ VB -ing 'I wasn't warching TV'

 

?= Was/Were + Suj + VB ing 'Was I watching TV?'

FOR- durante                                             YET- todavía _________yet

SINCE- desde                                              ALREADY- ya ....have already______.

JUST- ahora mismo ....have just______.
